The husbands of two longtime friends in their late 60s die within weeks of each other. When the friends discover that their husbands secretly co-owned a house in a remote Scottish village, they also uncover a secret relationship between the two men.
After their husbands die, two friends discover that the men secretly owned property together in Scotland. While struggling with their grief, the widows embark on a road trip together to find this property and discover what else the men might have been hiding from them.

MAGS (67), overly prepared, and DIANE (65), more go-with-the-flow, vacation in Stockholm with their husbands, ROGER (70), sporty, and LIAM (69), wearing a bowtie. Roger playfully undoes Liam’s bowtie. CUT TO: Devastated, Diane endures Liam’s funeral. Roger remembers Liam with a poignant speech, revealing just how much their friendship meant to him. Later, Diane meets with MERRILL (50s), an attorney who goes over Liam’s will with her. Although he’s left his full estate to her, he bequeaths his bowties and a bottle of Scotch to Roger. Diane is confused when there is mention of a property that he owned that she wasn’t aware of.
At the same time, Roger hides away a BRASS KEY in his garage safe. Over the next few weeks, Diane has a difficult time accepting Liam’s death, and Mags attempts to cheer her up. Their world is again upended, however, when Roger suddenly dies of a heart attack. After the initial waves of grief pass, the women toast their husbands, best friends they hope have been reunited.
Eventually, Diane is forced to deal with the practical issues involving Roger’s death. She’s stunned to discover that he’s left her partial interest in...
