A family purchases a mountain home to help the patriarch of the group overcome his anxiety disorder. When an injured young woman shows up at their home, the family struggles to understand what happened to her. Soon after, though, the family realizes the mountains are home to a pack of violent monkeys who quickly begin to target the family.

Primarily takes place in a secluded house; other locations include gas station, Sheriff's office, hospital, psychiatrist office, houses, compound with labs, surrounding forest, roads, etc.
ANA (40s) drives her very anxious husband WARREN (40s) through bumper-to-bumper Atlanta traffic on their way to a doctor's appointment. Warren's doctor advises them to consider making a major life change to help control Warren's debilitating anxiety.
This takes them to Holmes Township, a secluded area at the base of the AppalachianĀ Mountains, along with Warren's less-than-excited stepson, HAYDEN (15). After buying a rundown house in a remote part of town, the family gets to work on fixing up the place.
Just as they're settling in, a large explosion up the mountain rattles their windows and nearly sends Warren into panic mode.
SHERIFF BARNES (50s) shows up to try to calm the family, telling them, "No one goes up theseĀ mountains."
That night, during a heavy storm, Warren wakes up to find his tools ransacked and their cornfield in disarray moments before a barely conscious woman appears.
The family discovers the woman's name is TARA (30s) and bandages her up. Warren watches over Tara throughout the night until he nods off long enough to discover she's gone. He finds her in the bathroom, terrified, and she gives him a vague warning about what happened on the mountain.
The next morning, paramedics...
