Businessman AUSTIN GRIMSBY (65) is visited at his lake house by family friend JIMMY DOYLE (38). Jimmy informs Grimsby he’s found evidence of his wife cheating. Grimsby is enraged, and forces Jimmy to stay as he becomes increasingly agitated and unhinged. He discusses how the lake house has snakes. Grimsby claims he always knew she’d cheat eventually, but finding out is the worst thing that’s ever happened to him. Jimmy runs off after Grimsby holds him at gunpoint, demanding to know whether he believes Grimsby is a cuckold. However, Grimsby doesn’t exhibit his distress when his wife MARGO (45) appears. Grimsby observes his wife over the next several days, prodding at her playfully to investigate whether she’s cheating, all while working on a secret project at his workbench while reviewing the security camera video of his encounter with Jimmy. One day, he reviews it with Jimmy. The pair laugh about the incident, having staged it for Margo to see.

Grimsby is paying Jimmy to help trick Margo into revealing that she’s cheating and settling for cheaper in the looming divorce. Later, Jimmy talks to Margo, explaining how Grimsby had tricked her with the video. He angles to...
