A rugged adventurer teams up with an archeologist to find lost treasure in Mexico, unaware that a corrupt politician plans to use the money to fund a military coup by Fidel Castro.
In 1957, an American adventurer/prospector-for-hire embarks on a search through Mexico for the legendary treasure of Montezuma, as a corrupt politician also tries to find the treasure to fund Fidel Castro’s coup.
When a wealthy politician offers to bankroll his work, a treasure hunter, unaware that the politician's henchmen plan to steal the wealth the hunter uncovers, sets out to find the location of Montezuma's treasure.

Locations are split between Venezuela and Mexico and include: a jungle, various mine shafts and caves, a cliff, bar, office, military airbase, field, church, university, lab, estate, restaurant, trail, supply store, camp, pump shed, gabled temple, canyon, plane, helicopter, and Mexican presidential residence.
In the Venezuelan jungle, in 1957, Treasure hunter, JACK RIVERS (34) locates gold treasure with the help of a Pemón guide. She betrays Jack by allowing warriors to attack him. Jack manages to escape with the help of pilot, YURI PETROV (?).

Later, Jack laments to his business partner, RICARDO “BIG RICH” MUNOZ (38) that they have not made enough money from their previous job to pay off their debts. The pair are set on finding Montezuma’s treasure, but they don’t know where it might be located.

One day, Jack saves a dog, ACE (?), from being abused. While rescuing her, Jack finds a mysterious pole with Aztec writing on it. Big Rich takes the pole to PROFESSOR DELGADO (45), who translates the artifact. This helps Big Rich and Jack narrow down the location of Montezuma’s treasure slightly.

Meanwhile, Professor Delgado calls DON DIEGO ORTIZ (50s), a politician who has agreed to fund FIDEL CASTRO (31). Ortiz approaches Jack and Big Rich. Ortiz offers to fund their work.

Elsewhere, Yuri overhears PEPE (60s), Big Rich’s uncle, brag in a bar about finding portions of Montezuma’s treasure. Yuri and MARIO MERCADO (?) kidnap Pepe and torture him for information. Mario, who secretly works...
