In a factory in 1983 Seoul, TY WARNER (30s) and CAROL NICHOLS (30s) speak with the factory owner. Ty is unsatisfied with a toy prototype.

In 2013 Chicago, Ty (now 60s) speaks to SARAH (20s) in an interview. He holds a Beanie Boo. He begins to talk about his life.

In 1967 Illinois, a younger Ty arrives home from LA. His father, HAL (50s) greets him sternly. Ty goes to see his mother, GEORGIA (40s), who is paranoid and clearly unwell. His sister JOYCE (18) surprises him and the two chat.

Hal calls Ty to talk. He reveals that he has a job for him as a sales rep for Dakin, his company. Ty is resistant. Later, Ty hooks up with his former neighbor NANCY (40s), who tells him that being a salesman isn't all that different than acting. Ty considers. He takes on the sales job. He's great at it.

In 1980, Ty is the top salesman at Dakin. His coworkers hate his cocky attitude. Carol is a secretary at his office.

Ty owns a condo now, where he works in secret on toy prototypes. He pitches his line to his boss, who denies it. Georgia gets hospitalized for paranoid schizophrenia.
