Annalise is a girl who quite literally “sees the world differently” than everyone else and finds herself a lonely, misunderstood outcast who keeps her “cursed sight” a secret as a consequence. But everything changes when Annalise meets her new neighbor, Peter Song -- a fellow teenager whom everyone else sees as a disfigured boy, but whom Annalise sees entirely differently.
A girl who sees the world in a radically different way and a boy who sees himself in a different way find hope when they realize the other sees them as they truly are.
A unique girl who sees the world completely differently from everyone else falls for a boy who sees himself differently than everyone else. When it’s revealed that their visions align in how the boy views himself, they form a deep bond with one another.

ANNALISE (17) sees the world differently. Couches look like tigers, dresses are made out of cookies, rain appears as coins falling from the sky and exploding into glitters as they hit the ground. These are a few examples of the way the world looks through Annalise’s eyes.
Her MOTHER (40s), a perfectly prim woman, discourages Annalise as they prepare for guests.
A series of flashbacks where, from a young age, Annalise has a hard time communicating the way she sees the world. Her mother gets frustrated when trying to teach a three year old Annalise what a giraffe is, Annalise points to a tree; through her eyes the tree is the giraffe. Her mother disapproves.
When Annalise is 5, her parents take her to a doctor where she is diagnosed as mentally disturbed. A series of flashbacks continues as Annalise goes through the stages of grief.
Her parents deny her. She gets angry as her parents, teachers and peers all tell her she is wrong and dumb. She screams and fights them. Then comes bargaining. Annalise’s uncle has a similar issue with seeing things that aren't there. He is carted away by police and she learns to keep her life...
