DIANE ELLIOT (40s) hitchhikes along Route 40. A man in a blue van picks her up, thinking she's a prostitute. She tells him she's not anymore. He kills her in the woods.

An hour earlier, PAM SPINELLI (40s) gives Diane a plate of food. Pam is the manager of the Air Command Restaurant, a fancy establishment. She works the night shift.

Pam's daughter NIKKI SPINELLI (16) works at a donut shop.

Pam talks to PAULIE DUBOIS (50), head chef, about business partners who are coming to the restaurant. She hopes that she can get off the night shift.

A week later police find Diane's body mutilated the woods. MILES STANTON (40s), detective, goes to the site. He is missing a foot. Chief SUSAN LANGLEY (60s) arrives. They notice a pattern in killings: a serial killer is targeting women who are/used to be prostitutes.

Pam goes to confessional.

Nikki asks Pam if she can go to a fraternity party. Pam says no.

Miles confronts Pam and asks if she knows Diane. Pam says no. Miles reveals Diane was murdered.

Pam goes to a group of prostitutes and asks them what they know. She gives one money. At a motel, a prostitute is being...
