Annie Mills has always known Margot Ellison to be two things: her best friend and a devout Mormon. But as high school graduation nears and Margot starts to crave change, the girls must grapple with the fear that growing up might require growing alone.
As two best friends finish their senior year of high school, their friendship is strained by rising tensions. Both must try and save their friendship before leaving their hometown and going their separate ways for good.
An unlikely pair of best friends must reflect on their flaws when they experience a rift in the friendship.

A poster of Neil Armstrong is on the wall of ANNIE MILLS (17). She's excited about something. She has a "best friends" scrapbook on her wall.

She goes downstairs to see her mother, DONNA MILLS (45) and a random HOT GUY.

In a Mormon Church, MARGOT ELLISON (18) sits in seminary. She's starting at a hot Jesus sculpture's crotch instead of listening.

Margot and Annie meet outside a bush and Margot changes from church clothes to a short skirt. They go to high school.

Annie reveals that she's anxious to hear from Purdue today. It's her dream school so she can work at NASA.

In the hallway, Annie is hostile towards STEW PHINES (17).

Senior superlatives are being given out. Annie doesn't even want to go - but Margot does. Annie goes, begrudgingly. Margot wins "Dream Date" with a popular boy. People come up to her to talk after, but not to Annie.

Later Annie gets into Purdue on full scholarship. She and Margot dance in celebration. Margot leaves to help her sister, JESS (21) prepare for her wedding.

Margot gets home to her family, MRS. ELLISON (40s) MR. ELLISON (40s), GRETA (13) and FRANNY (10). Jess comments on Margot's lateness, which spurs a response.
