Synopsis
In 1923, Melbourne, Australia, a grenade has gone off at The Prestige Hotel. AUBREY KING (30s) is incapacitated by the blast as ROMAN RICHMOND (early 30s) makes his way down the stairs and notices.

Three weeks earlier, AUBREY is evicted from his farmhouse and his beloved piano is seized. With a police strike on, SERGEANT MCKINLEY (50s) and CONSTABLE LEWIS (20s) contend with the news that a pair of notorious robbers, coined “The Hotel Barbers,” has struck again. Leaving the office, Aubrey observes Roman receiving a beating from CHRIS (?) and MIKHAIL (?), two henchmen working for gangsters DANNY (30s) and DIZZY (40s) CORBYN. Roman owes them money. At home, Aubrey’s wife SANDRA (20s) is angry that Aubrey has failed to provide for her and their daughter PENNY (3).
