A POV shot of someone in a river, looking at a woman. We don't see her face.

We meet MALCOLM, who is strapped into a clinician's chair. The clinician asks him if he remembers his trauma and he denies.

Malcolm is told to put on an air-tight "bubble suit" under his clothes, a deadly virus has spread across the Earth and if he is exposed to unsterilized air he will die. Everyone wears these air-tight suits, except in certain sterilized rooms.

Malcolm is introduced to a life he doesn't recognize. He meets STAN, who claims to be his best friend, and is taken to a neighborhood barbecue. Everyone keeps insisting that his memories will come back to him soon. We learn things about the world -- it's a totalitarian state, where everyone is assigned the jobs which best suit them and people are placed into marital partnerships by the government. During the barbecue, people eat and drink through airlocks in their suits, nobody touches fresh air.

Suddenly, an SUV crashes into the neighborhood barbecue, and armed people stream out, attacking Malcolm's neighbors. These armed attackers aren't wearing bubble suits. Malcolm's neighbors all pull out weapons, and a fire fight ensues....
