In 1975, BETTY FORD (57) gets ready, taking a few pills with some vodka.

Three years later, Betty is questioned by a doctor in a rehabilitation center. She agrees that she has a pill problem, but denies that she is an alcoholic. Betty is shown to her room and introduced to her roommate LINDA (40s?).

Back in 1975, Betty talks to her social secretary NANCY HOWE and her press secretary SHEILA WEIDENFELD. Betty gives a speech about women’s rights.

In 1947, Betty dances with GERALD FORD. He tells her he is running for the House and wants her by his side. Ten years later, Betty struggles alone at home with their four kids. She hurts her shoulder and a doctor prescribes a cornucopia of pills to deal with the pain.

It’s 1973 and Gerald is the vice president. Betty and Gerald go to an event, where he talks to HENRY KISSINGER about Nixon’s upcoming resignation. Gerald says that Betty wants them to retire.

Five months later, Nixon resigns and Gerald becomes the president. He is sworn in and they move into the White House.

In 1978, Betty struggles to get used to life in rehab. She meets with a THERAPIST, but has trouble...
