A young boy and his ragtag group of friends get involved in a wacky adventure to obtain a Nintendo Entertainment System and make their 1988 Christmas dreams come true.

A couple days before Christmas

Its Christmas in Chicago. An adult JAKE DOYLE (40) takes his daughter ANNIE (6) to work with him. Annie finds Jake’s old Nintendo Entertainment System, and Jake tells her the story of how he got it.

In December of 1988, Jake (10) rides his bike to his neighbor, TIMMY KLEEN (10) to play on his NES. Timmy is a spoiled brat and the only one with an NES in the neighborhood. He only lets in 10 kids from a giant crowd outside his house to play with him.

Here we meet Jake’s best friends MIKEY TROTTER (10), EVAN OLSEN (10), and twins TOMMY and RYAN GRUSECKI (10). We also meet their not so close friend and constant liar JOSH FARMER (10). Timmy choose Jake as one of the lucky few to play with his NES today.

Jake really wants his own NES for Christmas so that he doesn’t have to put up with spoiled Timmy Kleen and so that he can share the fun with his friends. His parents JOHN (40s) and PATTY (40) are against this because they think video games are a bad influence on children.
