Time jump thirty seven years in future, then 8 hours and 28 minutes

A space pod collides with debris and CLARE (65) struggles but eventually gains control of the pod. Clare finally looks at her reflection after being unconscious and realizes that she is an elderly woman. Hex explains that time passed quicker in the gravity singularity space. Later, Clare discovers that the pod’s oxygen levels are low, and learns that she only has 8 hours of oxygen left.

The artificial intelligence system, HEX (computer), directs Clare to fix the heating/cooling system before she freezes to death. Clare fails and realizes that eventually, the pod’s temperature will be unhealthy. Clare gets a message from MARY (50s), a worker on mission control, explaining that HQ is working diligently to get Clare back home. The transmission ends and Hex explains that Clare has little chance of surviving with Mary’s plan. Clare disregards Hex and dodges asteroids on the way to Mary’s coordinates for Clare.

Clare, again, barely survives and wakes up floating near Mars. Clare, exhausted and losing confidence in Mary’s plan, decides to return to her initial location to retry the failed mission. While the pod floats back, Clare hallucinates and breaks the computer in the pod. Then, Clare realizes...
