The majority is set in NYC and suburban NJ. About 55% in the apartment of the main character. The streets of New York and the subway are recurring locations. There are many scenes at post offices as well as a sequence based in Pittsburgh airport and Lincoln Center. Another apartment and an utility van are also present.
WHITACRE tells GETTY (60s) that he has the documents that Getty wants secured, and if anything happens to Whitacre, there are arrangements made to protect him.

TOM (40s) goes to his aunt's funeral and reconnects with his cousins RAY (40s) and NANCY (17).

Tom calls KAREN (40s) about helping her protect the documents containing the information on the tobacco product.

HOBBS (40s) and ROSETTI (40s) try to trace a well protected call back to Tom, but come up empty handed.

Hobbs and Rosetti are sent on a witch hunt around Pittsburgh airport looking for Karen, but Tom rigged the PA system to send them the wrong way.

Tom explains the rules of his business to Karen, letting her know what the stakes are and what steps she needs to follow.

Rosetti and Hobbs chase Tom’s packages to Iowa and Scottsdale respectively, but come up empty handed once again.

Tom tells Nancy that he will accompany her when she moves into Purdue to make up for missing her graduation.

Karen and Tom talk over the TTY and start getting more personal in their answers, but they both hold back from really getting to know each other.
