Set in the 1900s against the backdrop of the deadliest heatwave in recorded history and inspired by America's most prolific female serial killer, Amy Archer-Gilligan opened one of the earliest nursing homes providing food and living space for elderly and sick people.  A local newspaper reporter starts to unravel the darkness behind Amy's true motives that brings about a psuychological battle involving Amy and those closest to her.
