Based on the unbelievable true story of serial killer Rodney Alcala’s life and appearance on the popular 1970s game show THE DATING GAME. Despite being in the midst of a murdering spree at the time, Rodney went on to win the show and a date with the contestant.
Sheryl is a struggling actress who is coerced into participating in a 1970s dating show. She begins to fall for charming eligible bachelor #3 without realizing that he is infamous serial killer Rodney Alcala, in search of his next victim.
Based on a true story, a prolific serial killer wins a date on a televised dating show.

Most scenes take place in L.A., particularly Downtown L.A. Scenes in ABC Studios, an apartment, a casting office, a small theater, a bar, a massage parlor, a cafe, a desert highway, and a lake. Some scenes in a small ranch in Nevada, a busy New York street and night club, and Santa Monica.
RODNEY ALCALA (mid-30s) sits in a storage facility admiring photographs from his serial murders. Time jump to AMY SCHULTZ (18), as she leaves her house and tries to hitch a ride to L.A. Rodney stops and offers to take her, which she agrees to.
SHERYL LEE-ELLIS (mid-20s) rehearses dialogue and goes to two auditions, then goes to a theater rehearsal. The director takes her hand and draws circles with his thumb suggestively, creeping Sheryl out. She works as a masseuse, giving a massage to a naked man, and he also creeps her out by asking for a blowjob. The next day, she meets with her agent HELEN (50s), who tells her of a job she got her in a dating show.
Flashback 10 years prior to a young Amy walking to school when Rodney pulls up and talks to her, already knowing her name. He offers to drive her to school but a neighbor comes out and he leaves.
Sheryl is backstage for the dating show and the host, ED (50s), hits on her and makes her uncomfortable. LAURA (25), a girl in the audience, sees Rodney and gets agitated, which Sheryl notices. Brief flashback to Rodney taking pictures of...
