One day in 1996. A few days in 1912.
Most takes place on the Titanic (steerage cabin, steerage deck, mess hall, first class cargo hold, office). Brief scenes in a suburban house, Southampton Street, the ocean, and the Carpathia.
In 1996, OLD MARY (101) tells her daughter REBECCA the story of her journey on the Titanic.

It’s 1912 and MARGARET (38), an uptight widow, leads her children MARY (17) and TIM (10) and her sister PATTY (30s) through a crowd. Mary complains that she doesn’t want to go on this vacation. They reach the Titanic.

They board the ship and go to their room in steerage. The family goes to the deck and says goodbye to their home. Patty asks Margaret why the kids think this a vacation. Margaret tells her she didn’t want to upset the kids by telling them they were moving to New York. Across the deck, Mary spots PATRICK, a teen heartthrob.

That night, Margaret, Patty, and Tim wake up to find Mary missing. Margaret storms into the Mess Hall and finds Mary drinking with Patrick and some other teenagers. She grabs her and drags her away.

Margaret and Mary fight. Patty comforts Margaret and tells her that she should let the kids have fun so breaking the news about the move to New York is easier.

The next day, Margaret tries to make the kids have as much fun as possible, her way, but it’s not...
