The script follows a brilliant and awkward engineer who builds an android to help out with life’s difficult situations. However, when the android begins to self-actualize, things end up spiraling out of control.
A female engineer living in Silicon Valley begins testing her newest big idea: an identical-looking robot that goes on all of the first dates for her.
Disillusioned with the dating world, an awkward, Silicon Valley tech develops an android to take her place on first dates. Things spiral out of control when she and the android fall for the same guy.
A young programmer constructs a robotic clone to go out on first dates, but when the robot falls in love with one of the dates, the programmer must put an end to it before the programmer's personal and professional life is destroyed.

We open as NINA ESMER (28) talks about how technology has helped the dating industry, allowing women to vett potential dates before going on a date. But Nina wants to go one step beyond. She wants to give another layer of protection, in the form of a stand-in.
She presents the idea as a joke and it's revealed that she's at a party with her friend, JULIAN (27) and her sister, HARPER (26). The three briefly talk about how Nina was dumped by her long-time boyfriend, BRAD (28) who took control of the company they founded together, and left Nina with little in the way of funds. Julian and Harper want to see Nina succeed with her newest invention, but Nina insists it's not ready yet.
When Nina goes home, it is revealed that she wasn't kidding. She has created a prototype for an android that perfectly resembles the prettiest version of the user, that she intends to send out as a test dummy on dates. Her current prototype is a prettier version of her named OTHER NINA. Other Nina is in fact the second version of the robot (the first is revealed to have jumped off a building after it tried to get...
