Present Day, over the course of a couple days.
New York City, 100% taking place in a fancy high-rise apartment: two bedroom suites, living room, kitchen, hallways. Plus one scene in elevator outside of apt.
In an upscale New York high-rise, paperboy PEDRO (28) brings a newspaper up to Officer DAVE (35) sitting outside the dwelling of MAURICE LUNEL-CASPI (60), a French politician kept under house arrest for allegations of sexual misconduct against a housekeeper. Maurice cuts a newspaper clipping of himself and pastes it onto his wall filled with clippings about himself. He tells his wife and successful businesswoman EDITH RIVET (55) about the news article. Less than thrilled with his presence in her life, she contends that they can only interact through e-mail, despite living in the same apartment space. She keeps him out of her bedroom, making him stay in the smaller bedroom.

He spends his days procrastinating on writing a socialist contract book, masturbating to women on live web chatrooms and watching television.

One day on the television, he sees his daughter, JACQUELINE (26), publicly ridicule his behavior.

Edith leaves for work and Maurice has a CALL GIRL (20s) posing as a legal associate visit him. Edith comes home and catches them. She ridicules Maurice for his lack of discretion, not having Dave check out the call girl's credentials, thinking she may be trying to entrap Maurice. Edith swaps Dave out for the more experienced JUSTIN (42)....
