Predominantly set in urban/suburban Virginia. Streets, houses, galleries, restaurants, office buildings. CIA/FBI offices and control rooms. Act three set in Middle Eastern desert, including markets and small towns, as well as a secret military base.
BLACK AND WHITE VIDEO FOOTAGE documents ANNA NEVEN (30's) going about her daily routine. She senses that she is being followed and returns home to her husband BOB NEVEN (30's). It is revealed that Bob is the person who was following her, and is keeping an elaborate chart documenting all of her activities in a secret compartment in their garage. Voiceover Bob informs us that he is doing this to try and figure out what happened to his "real" wife, who he believes was taken from him and replaced by the "fake" Anna currently living with him. His therapist, DOCTOR CARTER (60's) asks him to recall his memories about "real" Anna, and it is in this way that we see FLASHBACKS of Anna and Bob's early relationship. They meet at a halloween party and end up going to the beach. They each create personal "symbols", which they combine to form a larger image and duplicate it in the sand. They kiss passionately and begin to fall for each other.
